The European Ombudsman

The Office of the European Ombudsman was established in 1992 by the Maastricht Treaty to deal with complaints regarding maladministration by the institutions and bodies of the European Union. The European Network of Ombudsmen

The European Network of Ombudsmen consists of over 99 offices in 35 European countries. The Network includes the national and regional ombudsmen and similar bodies of the Member States of the European Union, the candidate countries for EU membership, and certain other European countries, as well as the European Ombudsman and the Committee on Petitions of the European Parliament. Association of Mediterranean Ombudsmen

The Association of Mediterranean Ombudsmen was created on December 19th, 2008 in Marseille. The AOM includes ombudsmen, mediators, institutions and organizations dedicated to the promotion and protection of Human Rights from the Mediterranean region. Read more

The European Ombudsman Institute

This is a non-profit making, scientific association; its purpose is to adopt a scientific approach in addressing issues relating to human rights, civil protection and the institution of ombudsman; to conduct research in those areas and to promote and disseminate the ombudsman concept and to co-operate with institutions advocating similar objective. International Ombudsman Institute
