A group of seventeen Social Studies students and their teachers from Maria Regina College, Mosta Secondary School, Żokrija, visited the Office of the Ombudsman as part of their Politics module, which includes the role of the Ombudsman in their syllabus. This visit is part of an initiative organised by the Office of the Ombudsman in collaboration with public and church secondary schools.

The Commissioner for Education, Chief Justice Emeritus Vincent De Gaetano, welcomed the students and delivered a comprehensive presentation on the role and functions of the Ombudsman, emphasising principles of good public administration and the rule of law. The session was interactive, with students actively engaging in the discussion and putting relevant questions to the Commissioner.

This initiative aims to deepen students' understanding of civic responsibility and to highlight the Ombudsman's contribution to good governance in Malta. By engaging with such institutions, students are better equipped to interact effectively with public entities and appreciate the importance of accountability and transparency in public administration.

The Office of the Ombudsman remains committed to fostering educational outreach and looks forward to welcoming more student groups in the future.
