The Ombudsman and Commissioner for Education visit MCAST Freshers’ Week

The Parliamentary Ombudsman, Judge Emeritus Joseph Zammit McKeon, and the Commissioner for Education, Chief Justice Emeritus Vincent De Gaetano, visited the Malta College for Arts, Science, and Technology (MCAST) during Freshers’ Week. They were welcomed by Mr Horace Laudi, President of MCAST, Dr Mario Cardona, Deputy Principal for VPET (Arts and Social Sciences), and Dr Caroline Demarco, Director from the Office of the Principal.

During the visit, the Ombudsman and the Commissioner toured various stands, interacted with representatives from public entities present at the event, and engaged with students.

They also took the opportunity to explore the NGO section, where a number of Non-Governmental Organisations showcased their initiatives aimed at promoting community service among the student body. The Ombudsman engaged in discussions with several representatives at the stands.

The visit concluded at the Office of the Ombudsman’s stand, where the Ombudsman and the Commissioner interacted with students and academic staff, highlighting the role of the Office in supporting educational institutions.
