What we do

We address unresolved complaints involving the public sector as defined in the Ombudsman Act 1995. 

We investigate instances where there is a belief of injustice or hardship due to improper action or poor service by the Government and the public sector in general.

Investigations are conducted for free with complete independence and impartiality. If you believe that you have been wronged, please use our online complaint checker tool to determine if we can investigate your case. 

Should the investigation reveal that the public entity acted incorrectly, we may recommend remedial action, including proposing improvements to prevent future issues.

The process is transparent and fair.

We keep you informed of what we do to ensure consistency and quality of the service.
